All D1 to D3 teams are welcome, we do our best to match teams within divisions for seeding to keep things as fair and fun as possible! 13u and above will combine if there are 4 teams or less in a higher division example; 5D3 teams and 2D2 teams, GCT will combine to make 7 teams and match accordingly in pool play

Game Play Rules:
DIVISION AGE CUT OFF & GRADE EXCEPTIONS:
Max of 4 Grade Exceptions per team per tournament.
Birth Certificate AND Printed copy of current year Report Card with Grade Level must be available for review by the T.D. at the Tournament.
All other Age Divisions & Unless Otherwise Noted Above:
When 20 run lead happens at anytime we will stop game to mercy rule.
We will follow pitch count rules; depending on age, your allowed 75 or more pitches for the weekend or per day.
We play exclusively by the rules of Five Tool Youth: CLICK HERE
We utilize pitching totals outlined in the Five Tool Youth Rules.
We play all 13u events at 54/80 unless otherwise noted.
We do not allow metal cleats on any turf fields or portable mounds.
No Metal Cleats 12u and younger
6u Coach Pitch Modifications
Batter - 4 pitches. Can swing at all 3. Then 1 swing from a Tee.
Catcher's Position During the Pitch- Catchers can try and catch the ball. While ball is on Tee- catcher must stand back.
Does the Batter / Runner and Runners have to stop at the base, or are they allowed to keep running until they stop running / time is called? - If ball is hit from Tee, hitter and runners only gets a max of 1 base only. If the ball is hit from a Pitched ball from coach there is no limit on bases run.
Is there is a 10' Arc in front of home plate that dictates whether a batted ball is considered playable ball? - There is a 10' Arc in front of plate, measured from tip of home plate. If the batter hits from the Tee or a pitch, the ball must go beyond the arc or it is considered a foul ball.
Offense: 2 base coaches, 1 pitching coach. Pitching coach CAN coach the batter, then help when Tee is brought in. When the ball is hit, (tee or pitch) the Pitching Coach can no longer coach the batter/runner, and base coaches should instruct the runner.
Defense: 2 Outfield coaches in Foul Territory, 2 in dug out.
Number of players: 9 players on field is legal, 10 can play as well. If you start with 10, you must finish with 10. You should bat the entire line up.
Time limit - Pool Play/Bracket - 60 Minutes
Mercy Rule - 15 after 3 ; 10 after 4 ; 8 after 5 ; 7 run cap per inning.
8u Kid Pitch Modifications (Only Player Pitch 8u KP)
Playing the same as 9U rules: pitching mound is 40' and bases are 60'
Balks will be warnings per pitcher
Infield fly rule in effect. No runner can advance. Batter is out
Players can run on Dropped 3rd strike. With 1 or 2 outs and with bases loaded only, you cannot run to first on drop 3rd strike. Third base runner cannot advance on a dropped 3rd strike.
No stealing home -
Even if catcher misses the ball from pitcher
Stealing Home;
If there is a lead off from 3rd base and pitcher attempts a pick off. All players can advance
7 Runs per inning.
Time- 1:05 pool and 1:10 bracket

All D3 Kid Pitch Divisions will have a 10 run limit in pool play only. So the 10 run limit will let one team bat at least 2 times
Will have one balk warning before balks are enforced in Pool Play. Bracket no warnings
Open bases, can steal at any time.

When do I pay the tournament entry fee?
All Gold Crown Tournaments payments are due before your first game.
If you want to pay on the day of the event you will need to mark that in the payment options, and confirm with Allen (903-477-3875).

Do I need team insurance?
Yes!
Five Tool Youth requires each team to provide a certificate of team/participant insurance prior to their tournament session.
If you do not have insurance you can purchase a policy HERE.
You must add Five Tool and Gold Crown Tournaments (entities below) as additionally insured. You can do this free of charge by contacting your insurance provider. We must receive your insurance no later than the day prior to the first day of our event.

Minimum requirements: General Liability $1,000,000 per occurrence/$2,000,000 aggregate/$5,000 each participant.
Teams that do not have GCT and Five Tool listed as additional insured, or that do not carry insurance will not be allowed to play at GCT Events. NO EXCEPTIONS!
How do I submit a schedule request?
Gold Crown Tournaments accepts schedule requests no less than 4 days prior to tournament start date. We will allow each team to block out any 4 hour period during pool play that outlines when they can not play. Example: A team can not play during the afternoon after 2pm – Block request is 2pm to 6pm.
We cannot block times for bracket play!

Scheduled requests are first come first prioritized. We work very hard to accommodate schedules, but we can only do so much!
Can we bring outside food and coolers?
Head Coach gets one cooler in for free.
All other Coolers are $10 each no matter the size.
Can we bring our pets or service animals to the tournament?
NO PETS!!! Even if you have a calm dog, or a tiny puppy- we can not allow them at our events. Insurance will not allow for it!
Service animals as outlined by the ADA are always welcome!
When are our rosters locked and what do I do if a parent forgets/neglects to sign the waiver prior to the cutoff?
All rosters are locked on the evening prior to the 1st day of the event. All players must be listed on the public view teams page by the cutoff. Players that do not have signed waivers by the cutoff are not eligible to play. If a parent is not able to approve their player please contact us immediately so that we can help!
Behavior at the events:
GCT and Five Tool Youth has a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY towards disrespectful, adverse, and/or abusive behavior. Any fan, parent, player, or coach will be ejected from the event for any disrespectful or abusive behavior at our events. We will not subject children to dangerous or abusive behavior from anyone at our tournaments!!!
Refund Policy:
Refunds are processed on the Monday following the tournament dates.
To withdraw, you must send an email to [email protected].
Withdrawal date is always the Sunday prior to event. To receive a refund or a credit towards another GCT Tournament you must withdraw prior to the withdraw date.
If you do not withdraw from a tournament prior to the withdraw date, there is a $75 administrative fee to re-work schedules and be withdrawn. If the fee is not paid the team will take forfeits through pool play.
Rain Out: ANY TOURNAMENT AFFECTED BY WEATHER
We will contact teams via email immediately of any changes that weather changes cause. It is up to the field maintenance crews on site to determine if the fields are fit for play or not. GCT has always, and will always make every effort to ensure the teams get as much play time as possible, but we have to follow the determination of the field maintenance crews.
No games Played = Full refund or Credit
1 Game played = Half Refund or Credit
2 Games Played / Seeded = No refund No credit - Awards are given based on seeding.
Cancellation:
In the rare case that a tournament is cancelled, we will issue full refunds or credits to all teams that have paid.
Roster Requirements:
Rostered players must be approved by parents so they are viewable by other teams. There must be at least eight players listed before the event begins for a team to eligible to play.
